Drama Victoria values its members. We exist because of our members and are governed by our members.
We represent the voice of Victorian Drama teachers, responding to their needs and concerns in the F-12 and tertiary sector. We provide relevant, unique and high-quality professional development opportunities and resources to support all drama teachers including beginning teachers, isolated teachers, rural teachers and returning teachers; with access to mentorship, networking opportunities and current resources to encourage and foster best practice in the drama classroom.
Membership is on a calendar year: January to December.

RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP: Membership to Drama Victoria includes membership to Drama Australia, the National Association for Drama Education and IDEA, the International Drama and Theatre Education Association. Drama Australia is the peak national body that represents and advocates on behalf of all state and territory drama education associations in Australia. Drama Australia represents drama teachers, academics, applied theatre workers and theatre in education practitioners at national arts and curriculum forums and in national and international peak associations, including NAAE , IDEA and AAEA the Australian Alliance of Associations in Education. Drama Australia and IDEA also run conferences and produce publications available to our members. Members can subscribe to the National Journal published biannually by Drama Australia when they join Drama Victoria or renew their membership.
PROFESSIONAL LEARNING: Drama Victoria offers professional learning opportunities for teachers (and some workshops for students) throughout the year culminating in a State Conference in November/December. Many of our professional learning activities have a cross-arts and cross-curriculum focus. Members receive discounted registration fees to all professional learning events.
ENEWS: Members receive a regular e-newsletter containing curriculum information, links to our MASK 2.0 articles, promotion of professional learning events, employment opportunities, industry news and opportunities, giveaways and much more.
MASK ARTICLES: Members can access MASK 2.0 - our online 'Magazine'. Mask 2.0, is an online compilation of exclusive articles, it is Member Only content - so you need to be logged in to view it, or follow the links from our Enews. Members recieve our printed MASK Annual, curated from the most popular articles throughout the year.
LIBRARY: Drama Victoria has an 'in-office' Library. Our Library is available for teachers to come in and browse and borrow. For the purchase of publications, Drama Victoria recommends Book Nook, which has created a Drama Victoria Recommended section on their website.
RESOURCES: We can assist you with a number of course outlines, lesson plans and units of work for the year level(s) you are currently teaching (F-12), all accessible in our private Member Only area. Drama Victoria produces a number of VCE publications throughout the year, i.e. Trial exams, marking guides, drama and theatre studies kits available to purchase through the Drama Victoria shop - Members get a discounted rate.
NETWORKS: Via our extensive membership base we can put you in contact with other teachers who are teaching the same year level(s) and subject(s) you are teaching (Drama and/or Theatre Studies). Drama Victoria is the peak advocacy body for Drama in the state. As a member you will join a network of literally hundreds of other teachers from the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors.
ADVOCACY: We represent members on a number of curriculum development and administrative committees regarding the teaching of Drama in Victoria, nationally and internationally. We are also linked to the DEECD - Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, CPTAV - Council of Professional Teaching Associations in Victoria, VCAA - Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and NAAE National Advocates for Arts Education.
GOVERNANCE: Being a Drama Victoria member gives you a vote - only members may serve on our Committee of Management, only members may vote our Committee of Management into office. If you want a say on all of the above, you need a voting voice!
